Interior Tips For Kitchen

Kitchen Interior Tips

Kitchen is one room that needs meticulous planning; care must be taken in placing the appliances correctly with the height of the kitchen counter built to make the job of the women working there easy.
The colours chosen for the floor, cabinets and tiles must be coordinated well. Kitchen colours must please the eye, while keeping your favorite and the practical aspects in mind too. And that includes the flooring, walls, cabinets, the glazed tiles and the kitchen counter. The kitchen functions as a place where you not only cook delicious meals for your family but also as a storage space of sorts; and, if it doubles up as a dining area, then your choice of dining furniture should match the other fixtures in the kitchen. Anybody can walk there and find what he or she wants without having to rummage through every cabinet. This can happen only if the kitchen is comfortable to cook in. Kitchen organization and management is an art and must be mastered by the owners for a happy living.
Interior designers are of the view that the most important of all appliances that are used on an everyday basis, are the cook-top, the refrigerator and the sink.
The sink performs one of the most important functions in a kitchen. The ideal sink is large, has two basins, and is mounted on top or your counter top, not under. Ideally, every kitchen should have the sink in the centre and the refrigerator and the cook-top on the sides of the sink, whatever be the kitchen shape.
This placement ensures smooth work flow; removing supplies from the refrigerator, washing them in the sink and then heading to the cooking area must be done effortlessly and painlessly. A chimney above the cook-top ensures that your kitchen is rid of all chocking fumes, which could adversely affect the health of the womenfolk cooking meals there.
The kitchen must be ideally located at a place in the house where it receives optimum sunlight during the day. North, northeast corner, or east would be ideal locations. A couple of windows on adjacent walls will ensure cross ventilation too. This is particularly good even if you have an exhaust fan or a chimney over your cook-top. The kitchen lighting is important as well especially over the cook-top. Adequate electric
points should be made available so
as to accommodate kitchen appliances like the microwave, the toaster, the refrigerator, or the oven.
In my personal view, the flooring in any kitchen should be 1cm lower than the other floors in your home. Ideally, a kitchen can be covered with marble tiles, ceramic tiles, or terrazzo, which are resistant to chemicals; and slightly sloped towards the drain.”
The kitchen should have a minimum height of 2.75 m, from the floor surface to the lowest point in the ceiling. The counter top or the kitchen platform should be placed at a height of 30-36 inches. Some prefer 32 inches. Most modular kitchen companies offer a 36″ counter. This should be calculated taking into account the height of the lady of the house who is to cook.
Expert suggests that if you are short on space in your kitchen, you can opt for a movable storage shelf that can double up as a counter. Pull-out shelves can be very useful in organizing your cutlery, tools or grocery jars. Take care to find one with adjustable height, so that it can be used for different types of containers.
Interior decorators say that you can have cabinets under your kitchen counter as well as above the glazed tiles over the counter top. Depending on the size of your kitchen, you can arrange your utensils, tools and cutlery in well-appointed pull out drawers or shelves with neat handles.
Every home reflects the personality of its owner, especially the kitchen; so, now you must get down to redesigning your kitchen if it fails to match the above parameters.
